MyHospitals website to open next month, Roxon announces

The Australia government’s My hospital website is scheduled to be running next month. This website is designed to compare the performances of public hospitals against national benchmarks. Moreover, the website aims to provide information on which hospital requires further assistance. The site will also list the medical services provided, the number of beds and whether outpatient services, such as allied health and dental services are offered. This website currently involves all the public hospitals in all states with the exception of Western Australia, but the government is looking at private hospitals into initiative in the future. Lastly, the website address will be www.MyHospitals.gov.au.

  1. No doubt, the public hospitals are more inefficient than private hospitals in most of the time. Please keep this in mind, although public hospitals are low efficient, they have better equipment than private hospital. So, please don't always think that paying money in private hospitals can get a better health treatment.

In my opinion, this website is a good programme to improve the public hospitals efficiency and quality. This can improve the image of the public hospitals as well as increase the level of transparency in hospitals. Therefore, I think Malaysia needs it as well. Mr. Najib, please consider it!

  2. Are you sure that public hospital have better facilities and technology? I would like to point out that government has been putting endeavour in escalating the standard of service. To my expectation, the public service provided still capable to improve further. At least, most of the civil servants could be much more efficient and amiable towards patients or treatment seekers. I would not blame the whole team. I belive there are still doctors and nurses in public sector who are passionate and dedicate in their noble profession.

  3. I totally agree with you, Soo. The civil servant could be much efficient. No doubt, the public hospitals have better facilities and technology. I got this from my cousin who is a doctor. He said that the patient with very serious disease will be sent to the public hospital in the end to get more advanced treatment. This is because the private hospitals do not have sufficient fund to buy advance technology.
